The desk reads one address: [email protected]. Every message lands in the same place, whatever it carries, and the answer comes from the desk that writes the journal.
Four reasons to write
A correction. You read a code section differently, or you found a citation that moved: send the section and your reading. A correction is published, dated, and noted where the error ran, under the editorial policy.
A question about a code section. The desk answers where the answer is already published, and reads the source where it is a question worth a full page. Much of what arrives this way is already unfolded in where to read the law.
A city ordinance worth reading. The journal reads municipal codes one city at a time; a pointer to an Animals article that says something interesting becomes a Notebook entry with its date.
A commercial proposal. Placements have their own standards and their own page, and proposals are read there first: sponsored content.
What becomes of a message
Mail to the desk is kept for the time it takes to answer and to publish any correction it prompts; the handling is described in the privacy policy. Who answers, and how the desk is organized, is on the about page.
