Privacy policy
A journal with no accounts, no forms and no tracking: what little there is, and what a reader can ask of it.
This journal publishes pages, and a reader reads them. There is no account to create, no form to fill and no analytics profile tied to a person: the site holds no reader database, because it never opened one.
What the site itself sees
The hosting that serves these pages keeps standard server logs, as hosting does: the request, the time, the address it came from. Those logs exist to keep the site running and to stop abuse; they are not a reader file, they are not sold, and they are not merged with anything, because there is nothing to merge them with.
What the desk receives
Mail sent to the address on the contact page arrives with whatever the sender chose to include: a name, a return address, the text. The desk keeps a message for the time it takes to answer it and to publish any correction it prompts, and quotes it in print after asking the writer. A sender may ask what is held, ask for it to be deleted once the answer has gone out, or ask for a correction to the record; the same address exercises every one of those rights.

This policy is dated like every page on the journal and moves with the site, not ahead of it.
