The offer
Sponsored content
Labeled placements, reviewed by the desk, running where the reader expects them.
The journal carries commercial placements, and labels them as placements. A sponsored card wears its label in the kicker and its date like every other dated thing on the site, and a reader can tell a placement from a reading before the first line.
Where placements run
Placements run in the gates where a reader is already shopping: Southern living, health, training, sports, adoption. The law gates hold readings, because a page that quotes a code section carries enough weight already; the breadth on offer is visible in the sections we cover and at its widest in living with a dog here.
The review
A placement meets the editorial standard before it runs: claims carry their source, figures carry their year, and the same correction rule applies to a sponsor's text as to the desk's own. The standard itself is the editorial policy, and it is the desk that reviews, not the sponsor. A proposal starts with a message to the address on the contact page, and the answer lays out format, labeling and price before anything is scheduled.
